A Whale of a Good Time

Marc and I went on a whale watching cruise the other day. It wasn't much a cruise, rather a really fast new boat. We set out from Lahaina Harbor on search of a few humpback whales in their natural habitat. We were successful. We followed a mom and her calf, plus an escort. An escort whale basically follows the female whale around until the following mating season, then they have whale sex, then a baby.

Boats need to stay 100 yards from a whale, unless of course the whales swim up to the boat. A couple times during the tour, the whales got pretty darn close. It was kinda freaky, but cool at the same time. They are enormous! We were lucky enough to get a few pictures of the tail, no such luck on the breaching. Oh well, maybe another time.

St. Patrick's Day in Maui

Marc and I got to Mulligan's around 3:30. After many Guinness and Smithwicks, it got a little weird. When I say weird, I mean all the locals started pouring in. This made me scared and nervous. Not nervous like we were going to be murdered, but I certainly would not wonder off on my own. I believe Marc and I were hit on by a local mafia type and his girlfriend. I don't know why swingers gravitate toward us, because we ARE NOT swingers!!

Anyway, here are a couple pictures from the night:

I found it..

I found a wonderful gallery in Lahaina. Maybe I bought something .....and maybe I did.

Look how cool this place is:

Tony Pena

Just in case you didn't know. I am so freakin' excited for baseball season to start. Here is my man (well--second to Mr. Derek Jeter) Mr. Tony Pena, first base coach for the Yanks.

Maui

The flight to Maui was a pure delight. We were suppose to leave Oahu at 1:45 PM and get to Maui around 2:15. However, we were able to jump on an earlier flight and get to Maui before we expected. We picked up our yellow Jeep Wrangler. I am not sure why we got a Jeep. I guess we thought it would be 'cool' to take our day trips in. After our first ride in it, we are double guessing our decision. Its small, loud, my hair is a mess, and its not so easy to get the windows and top on and off. But at least we look cool!!!

Here are a few pictures of our first day in Maui.

Planes / First couple days in Hawaii

If I never have to be on another plane in my life, that would be fine with me. The plane ride to the Aloha State sucks the big one (sorry to put it so bluntly). Seriously, I am not kidding.

Guess what Marc and I are doing today? Taking a plane ride to Maui. Even though this trip will be 30-40 minutes, it still makes me cringe.

Besides the plane ride, everything thus far has gone smooth. We are having a grand time. We even got upgraded to a deluxe ocean view suite upon on arrival, aren't they nice!

We went to a luau last night, it was from 4:30 - 10:00. Can I just tell you that many a Mai Tai were consumed during that time. As Ray would say, "when in Rome, be a Roman".

Here are a couple pictures of our first couple days.

This was the first couple days....
Check back later for a St. Patty's Day update. I am nervous. Especially if you know what happened last year. All I have say is 'Iz' will not be around, so Marc and I shouldn't pass out this year.

Sundance sings PJ

I hate to admit that I am still watching American Idol. Why can't I drop that show?

Sundance sang PJ, he could have performed 'Porch' or 'Garden' instead of 'Jeremy'. I think that was the first time anyone sang PJ on AI.

Think we will hear some AIC or STP?
